The program aims at influencing the organization and involves every employee.

To assist us in reaching our innovation goals, we have created the position of Innovation Program Manager.  This position will lead the Innovation program, and  focus on critical elements of the program, including: acting as a liaison between the steering team and the program champions, recommending opportunities to pursue, investigate, ideate, and test for suitability to move forward to scale, all in partnership with various stakeholders across the company.

You are committed to implementing creative strategies and practices to position Teknor Apex at the forefront of innovation and ensuring innovation culture is embedded in the organization. You move with a sense of urgency. You will work with site, business and functional leaders to move the Innovation program forward.  This is a mid-level professional position.


  • Direct and manage global innovation program (Innovation Everywhere) to promote a culture of innovation empowering all employees to share ideas for continuous improvement and new innovative ways of working
  • As process owner, lead the implementation, management, and governance of the innovation process
  • Manage innovation platform tool to integrate best practices and tools for idea and innovation project management
  • Function as liaison between Innovation Steering Team and Innovation Champions
  • Manage innovation project portfolio and projects to ensure that milestones are achieved in established timelines with support from local innovation teams
  • Develop and coordinate innovation training program focused on the innovation process, behaviors, and tools for employees including leadership and innovation organization
  • Develop and implement communication plan to communicate results, learnings, and innovation campaigns and events in partnership with internal communications manager
  • Work with business and functional leaders to develop idea acquisition and implementation strategies
  • Institutionalize best practices from innovation process and projects
  • Performance management of innovation organization
  • Continuous improvement of innovation process, tools and project execution
  • Develop and manage KPI’s and track progress for effectiveness
  • Develop and oversee ROI for innovation projects and the overall program
  • Create and manage innovation budget
  • Remain current in market trends and best practices in the collaborative innovation area to continue to keep best innovation practice and initiate new approaches where appropriate
  • Ensure timely and accurate progress and status information is presented at the right level to all stakeholders
  • Develop performance indicators and other measures to track program progress
  • Both program implementation KPIS as well as program output tracking, like ROI for implemented ideas
  • Understanding innovation methodologies and organizational standards (i.e. technical and IT governance) and communicating them to clients

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Position requires between 6-8 years of related innovation experience and at least 5 years operating experience or mid-level program or project management experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Certificate in Innovation Management a plus
  • CAPM, PMP highly desired
  • Ability to indirectly influence Innovation team members and motivate the team to achieve stated goals.
  • Versatile and flexible; ability to work under pressure and on simultaneous tasks
  • Focused, organized and a hands on mentality
  • Confident communicator and presenter, both to management as well as the rest of the organization
  • Superior project management and time management skills
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude, innovation background is a plus but not compulsory.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Be part of driving a culture of innovation within the company • Recommend opportunities to pursue, investigate, ideate, and test for suitability to move forward to scale in partnership with various stakeholders across the company.
