ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Assist the maintenance supervisor in leading the maintenance staff at the site. Schedule and assign personnel to meet the maintenance schedule, establish shift priorities based on the maintenance plan, and resolve processing issues during the shift.
• Monitor the workforce to make sure that all procedures are being followed and the tools are being used as designed. Discuss any deviations with the supervisor and work to improve them.  Stop any unsafe conditions and foster a spirit of cooperation within the department.
• Achieve manufacturing goals by helping the supervisor to communicate job expectations to the team. Make recommendations to the supervisor on improving the processes.
• Assist the supervisor by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
• Assist the supervisor with keeping up with the spare parts inventory by making sure that there is always an adequate number of spare parts on hand.
• Ensure the safe and proper operation of machinery by operators. Evaluate and issue maintenance work orders when necessary.
• Ensure a clean safe work environment by educating and directing personnel in the proper use of equipment and resources and maintaining compliance with our safety and environmental policies.

• Desire to improve professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and benchmarking state of the art practices.
• Oversee the department’s PM program by helping create PMs for new equipment and by generating the monthly PM’s and overseeing their completion. 
• Will be required to organize and maintain the maintenance storage areas in the warehouse and develop an inventory log of all the parts.   
• Serve as the backup supervisor when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
