Overview

As an Analytics Engineer co-op, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives while working with modern Microsoft technologies. You'll contribute to projects that have a direct impact on how business leaders analyze information and make decisions across the company.

The Analytics Engineer co-op supports the development and maintenance of Teknor Apex's enterprise reporting and analytics environment. Working alongside experienced Analytics Engineers, this role assists with Power BI report development, Microsoft Fabric semantic models, data validation, documentation, and business reporting initiatives.

This co-op provides meaningful project experience through the company's ongoing migration from Cognos to Power BI, allowing the intern to contribute to production solutions while learning modern business intelligence and analytics practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and enhancement of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with Microsoft Fabric semantic model development and maintenance.
  • Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot reporting discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for reports, data models, and processes.
  • Support the migration of enterprise reporting assets from Cognos to Power BI.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into analytics solutions.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of reporting enhancements.
  • Present project updates and recommendations throughout the internship.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science
    • Working knowledge of SQL required.
    • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred but not required.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
    • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
