Overview
Join Teknor Apex's Sustainability team and help drive initiatives that support our environmental goals while delivering value to our customers. As a Sustainability Intern, you'll work directly with our Sr. Sustainability Manager on projects that improve the accuracy and accessibility of sustainability data across our product portfolio.
This internship provides hands-on experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Product Carbon Footprints (PCF), supplier collaboration, and sustainability reporting while contributing to real business initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support customer requests related to Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprints (PCF)
- Assist with developing and maintaining PCF data across product portfolios
- Validate product formulations to ensure accurate sustainability reporting
- Coordinate supplier sustainability data with the Purchasing team
- Help update and recertify Teknor Apex's European Product Carbon Footprint model
- Analyze sustainability data and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with Sustainability, Purchasing, Product Management, and Technical teams
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with large datasets and Excel
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Interest in sustainability, carbon accounting, and environmental reporting, and circular economies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to perform duties under specific time requirements
- Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
