Overview
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on all machines & equipment in the plant and.
- Install and move production machines and manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and/or controls.
- Ensure shop, equipment and tools are safe to use.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained, in good working order and secured.
- Responsible for maintaining facilities equipment.
- Identify and assist with training needs of team members.
- Responsible for coordinating with leaders and others, as applicable, during shift changes.
- Complete data entry and recordkeeping tasks accurately, as needed.
- Serve as backup to team members and shift leader, as needed.
- Participate and lead continuous improvement projects and activities.
- Ensure team members are working safely and provide education and training on safety topics.
- Maintain housekeeping and 6S standards.
- Identify quality issues and attain established productivity standards.
- Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.
- This role is a full-time position within our site where we have a team approach to manufacturing. Timely and Regular attendance is crucial to your success and the safety of the team.
- There is mandatory overtime associated with the role depending upon the needs of the business because, with team-based manufacturing, production areas must be manned for worker safety and may continue beyond the end of a scheduled shift or may require additional overtime hours outside of normal shift schedule.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
- 3-5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience required. Previous leadership experience a plus.
- Associate’s degree/technical degree or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Computer skills required.
- Must have a general understanding of the operational process.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning initiatives.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrate leadership and decision-making skills to logically solve operational decisions and efficiently address issues as they arise.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
- Possess skill to train operators and designation of Certified Trainer.
- Continuous commitment to taking on added responsibilities above standard skills.
- Capable of troubleshooting difficult production problems and developing appropriate corrective actions.
- Proven leadership skills (i.e., communicating safety toolbox talks, serving on quality teams, etc.).
- Acquired leadership skills through training courses and dedication to continuous learning and development.
- Proven track record of exhibiting core values (i.e. volunteering for added responsibilities, providing coverage for absenteeism and voluntary overtime, helping others with problem solving, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs multiple times throughout the shift.
- Must possess good manual and mechanical dexterity to perform job duties.
- Remove tooling and properly reassemble using basic hand tools. Basic motor skills are required to perform the necessary mechanical aspects of this job in an efficient manner.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds multiple times throughout shift.
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
- Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the roles within their assigned team
