Overview
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- On a daily basis, reviews individual department results to ensure overall profit, quality and EH&S objectives are met.
- On a regular basis ensures that all facility staff have the proper training to perform their responsibilities.
- On a quarterly basis, reviews and develops goals, plans, and strategies in conjunction with other plant staff that will produce results needed to meet organizational goals.
- On a daily basis, collaborates with various departments within the entire organization to meet customer and corporate objectives. Communicates priorities, requirements, and changes to manufacturing staff.
- On a monthly basis, reviews monthly operating statements to ensure plant performance meets profit objectives and analyzes data to develop improvement strategies for the location,
- On a daily basis, collaborates with production/quality/safety teams to ensure orders are completed on time, and that production goals for yield, quality and quantity are met.
- On a daily basis, assists production/quality & process engineering in implementing process improvements to meet plant, customer, and corporate objectives.
- On an annual basis, organizes and presents objectives, goals, and plans to various levels within the entire organization.
- On an annual basis, collaborates with Director of Manufacturing to develop and present an annual operating budget.
- On a quarterly basis, plans, organizes and implements training for all levels at the location
- On a daily basis, ensures Company safety procedures are being adhered to.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Position assumes full managerial responsibility for multiple departments.
- Position has budget responsibilities up to $5,000,000 and no revenue responsibilities.
MAJOR CUSTOMER/SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
External (provides input for product/service/output)
SKILLS
- Work is basically non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables. Analytic ability and inductive thinking are required to devise new methods in situations where previously accepted methods have proven inadequate.
- Creativity is necessary in order to identify areas of improvement in daily business and implement the procedures collaborating with department managers.
EXPERIENCE
- Position requires between 4-6 years production manager experience or similar experience.
EDUCATION
- Four-year degree preferred, with a minimum of four years of practical experience in a field of study such as chemistry or engineering, etc.
