Overview

When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. After a nearly hundred-year journey that’s carried us through acquisitions and expansion, we now have nine U.S. locations, as well as operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Making certifications, reviewing for accuracy and compliance
  • Creating specific reports requested by different customers (CoC, etc.)
  • Inspect final packaging and material for compliance
  • Approving products prior to shipment
  • Review upcoming work orders for any additional needed changes
  • Review existing standards for upcoming work orders for consistency with stored values in DataColor
  • Helping other technicians with their job duties when needed
  • Set-up of new products/work orders, such as:
    • Folder set-up
    • Storing standards in DataColor
    • Revising Spectrum Product Specification to required values
    • Reprinting a new work order once Spectrum has been updated
    • Reviewing previous orders for necessary changes
    • Reviewing formulas for necessary changes
    • Revision of specifications
    • Filing of completed work orders
    • Filing Retains

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be capable of standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift bags of material up to and including 55 pounds safely

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate superior color discrimination.
  • Prior experience working in quality control or manufacturing environment
  • Detail-oriented in weighing and cleaning equipment.
  • Strong basic math skills, ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Demonstrate thorough review of work and able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills required; Microsoft Office and able to understand data entry functions.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with accuracy and make quick decisions
