Overview

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager and has full responsibility for the site’s quality organization and systems. This role has a significant impact on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regularly interacts with global quality leadership, production, engineering, supply chain as well as customers to ensure alignment of quality objectives.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality technicians to achieve department and plant goals.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Coordinate daily quality operations, including incoming inspection, in-process and final product verification.
  • Implement and maintain built-in quality systems to ensure quality is integrated into all stages of production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities to resolve product or process issues.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements in product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Interface directly with customers regarding quality concerns and product performance.
  • Collaborate with the quality function of other sites to share best practices.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, control plans, and inspection standards.
  • Own, monitor and analyze key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote and exhibit all Company core values.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Results oriented leader with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to handle concurrent problems and prioritize effectively
  • Strong experience with root cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing built-in quality systems and process control strategies (poka-yoke, layered process audits, FMEA, control plans, SPC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the company to customers professionally.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist and turn as needed to perform the job.
